Education is the key to strengthening our communities, our economy, and our democracy. As such, education should be prioritized in the allocation of public funding and other resources.

We support equal rights and opportunities for all students, regardless of their economic background, linguistic ability, race, ethnicity, gender, national origin, religion, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, or any other actual or perceived trait that would qualify them for protection under the laws of California.

We recognize the disparity of opportunities and resources between schools and within schools and believe that if we are to benefit our communities, economy, and democracy, we must work to improve the educational condition of the most disadvantaged students and schools.

We support the rights of all students to a clean school, safe learning environment, adequate instructional materials, and qualified teachers.

We support inter-segmental cooperation and collaboration to create an education continuum with curricular flow that prepares students for economic opportunities and social responsibilities.

We support the creation of a culture of success at all schools and within all communities so that all students strive to reach their fullest potential.
