Rick-Arlo (he, him, el) previously served as the Donor Relations Manager at the San Diego LGBT Community Center. In this role, he guided engagement, cultivation, and stewardship strategies to maximize donor giving on all levels. Rick-Arlo fully believes in the power of philanthropy and feels fortunate to have the opportunity to shape donor partnerships into meaningful causes through genuine relationship building. As a speaker, community trainer, member of the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and a fundraising professional of color, Rick-Arlo is passionately committed to advocating for inclusion, diversity, equity, and access in the non-profit sector.

Rick-Arlo is a firm believer in building community and kinship. He enjoys being an active member of the San Diego 2SLGBTQ+ community, supporting local mutual aid groups fighting homelessness, volunteering at the Detention Resistance: Abolition Collective, and serving as the Program Chair for the University Heights Community Association. Rick-Arlo is a Bay Area transplant of 12 years who loves living in University Heights and enjoys early morning walks to coffee shops, relaxing in his ever-growing collection of guayabera shirts, and serving facts at local trivia nights.
