SAN DIEGO – The following statement can be attributed to Norma Chavez-Peterson, Executive Director, ACLU of San Diego & Imperial Counties:
We are deeply saddened by the shooting of two San Diego police officers early this morning, in which one officer died and another officer was critically wounded.
We hope for a speedy recovery for the wounded officer, and extend our heartfelt sympathies to their families and to the San Diego Police Department.
We condemn acts of violence against anyone in our San Diego community.
